A few Carly Rae Jepsen fans in Bakersfield, California had an once-in-a-lifetime experience recently. The Bakersfield, California high school Independence High School scored a big win for their school after winning a radio contest featuring Carly Rae Jepsen. Jepsen would perform at the high school that received the most votes from listeners, and Independence High School was thrilled to be the recipients of the honor. The “Call Me Maybe” singer performed during both lunch periods. Fans were thrilled to have the singer visit their school, and it also worked well at promoting Jepsen’s appearance at the Bakersfield Californian that same night.

The “Call Me, Maybe” singer and tourmate of Bieber, who has been drawing a lot of praise for refusing to work with the Boy Scouts of American recently, has also come out as being in complete support of Justin Bieber. No one knows better than Carly Rae Jepsen what Bieber has been through in recent weeks, and she has been quick to refer to him as professional, amongst other kind words. She went on record as saying she believes that he’s in a good place.

Carly Rae Jepsen hasn’t been shy in the least about explaining her reasons for cancelling a recent appearance slated for the National Scout Jamboree. She explains simply that she just could not be part of an organization that has banned gays from holding positions of leadership in the organization. She is the second act to back out of the nine-day event. Train also cancelled their appearance for similar reasons. Regarding Carly Rae Jepsen, a spokesman for the Boy Scouts avoided any direct mention of Jepsen quitting, saying only that the organization still has every intention of putting on the jamboree.
