The love Kelly Clarkson has shown for animals in the past has been well-documented. Clarkson recently emphasized her great affection for animals of all kinds by Tweeting against the killing of shelter animals. The American Idol winner pleaded with her Nashville fans to do all they can against the many animals that are unfortunately killed by shelters every single day. A petition asking Nashville mayor Karl Dean to make changes to Nashville’s Metro Animal Care and Control has been making the rounds online over the last several days, and Kelly Clarkson was proud to add her name to the list of people.

The Beachwood Place Mall is enlisting Kelly Clarkson for a free concert on April 13th. The concert will take place in the west parking lot. It’s all part of the celebration surrounding the opening of a new Microsoft store The Beachwood Place Mall is honored to be playing host to. The first 1100 people in line by 11 AM will get two free passes to the event. The first 100 people in line at the same time will also be lucky enough to score passes to a Kelly Clarkson meet and greet. The concert is expected to begin at 6 PM.

Kelly Clarkson is no stranger to chart-topping hits. Her post-American Idol career has yielded ten so far. She can now add an impressive 11th hit to her already considerable resume. Nielsen Soundscan recently released the press release regarding the milestone. “Catch My Breath” has already given Clarkson a great deal of success. The song hitting its 1 millionth download is just one more noteworthy accomplishment for a career that’s already looking at yet another successful year in 2013. Scoring her 11th single to sell one million copies certainly places Clarkson high on the list of the most successful Idol winners ever.

Kelly Clarkson seems to be a pretty big fan of new sensation Miguel. She had a number of huge compliments to throw his way after accepting her Best Pop Vocal Album at the Grammys, and now there’s a very real possibility that they might work together in the near future. Miguel recently remarked that he approached Clarkson after the awards show to thank her for the kind words, and then added that he would love to collaborate with Clarkson on something at some point down the road. Clarkson seems to be receptive to the idea, so it’s just a matter of when.

Kelly Brianne Clarkson (born April 24, 1982 in Fort Worth, TX) is a Grammy-winning American singer-songwriter and occasional actress. Clarkson recorded her debut album with RCA Records after having won the highly-publicized first season of the television series American Idol in 2002. Though originally marketed as a pop musician, she eventually developed a more rock-oriented image. Her debut album, Thankful, was released in 2003 and debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 with almost 300,000 copies sold in its first week. Her first single, A Moment Like This, broke the record for largest leap to #1, shooting from #52 to #1, where it remained for two weeks. The second single, Miss Independent, was also a success, hitting #1 on the US Top 40 Mainstream chart and remaining there for six weeks. Further singles Low and The Trouble With Love Is were released but failed to mimic the success of her previous songs. However, Low managed to become a hit in Canada and reached #2. To date, Thankful has been certified 2x Platinum in the United States, Platinum in Canada and Gold in Australia.
