The wrongful death lawsuit being brought against concert promoter AEG Live by the family of Michael Jackson is slowly but surely picking up momentum. The jury selection for the highly-publicized trial began April 2nd. The defense AEG Live is expected to take on is that Jackson began his addiction to powerful medical prescriptions long before they assigned Dr. Conrad Murray to assist Michael Jackson. They are expected to add other components to their defense, but the fact that Jackson had numerous prescriptions available to him under dozens of aliases is likely to be a key defense against the 40-million dollar suit.

Jury selection has finally begun for the Michael Jackson wrongful death lawsuit. The lawsuit is being brought against concert promoter AEG Live by the family of Michael Jackson. The suit will continue the allegations made by Jackson’s family that AEG Live should be held responsible for the singer’s unfortunate, untimely death on the eve of his big comeback tour. AEG is expected to argue that it was Jackson’s own lifestyle choices that brought about his passing at the age of 50. The family of Jackson is still seeking the massive sum of 40-billion dollars for what they feel is AEG’s negligence.

Due to claims by Katherine Jackson, mother of the late pop icon Michael Jackson, that AEG had Dr. Conrad Murray on its payroll at the time of Jackson’s death, the California Court of Appeals has ordered that Jackson’s medical records be unsealed. The hope from Jackson’s lawyers is that an answer to the last of Katherine Jackson’s claims, the rest have long since been thrown out by the courts, will be found in the unsealed Michael Jackson records. Katherine Jackson is currently seeking 40 billion dollars in damages in regards to the unexpected, tragic death of her legendary son in 2009.
