Adele’s Emotional Farewell to Las Vegas Residency
Adele has officially closed the curtains on her two-year Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Taking center stage for her final performance on November 23, the star got emotional as she bid farewell, unsure when she would perform again. "I don't know when I'm next going to perform again," Adele shared with her audience, adding, "I will miss it terribly, and I will miss you terribly."
Reflecting on Her Residency Choice
The global superstar, who kicked off her "Weekends With Adele" residency in November 2022, made clear in her last speech how much she enjoys a residency over touring conventionally. "I f—ing hate touring," she said, laughing. She added that with the residency, her life could be stable for her son, so she chose to do a residency to keep his life normal, and she did that.
A Tribute to Celine Dion
There were many career-defining moments during Adele's residency at The Colosseum, but perhaps none more special than when Celine Dion joined as an audience member in the October 26 show. When Dion launched her residency at The Colosseum in 2003, she went this time with her sons. That was what Adele described as a "full-circle moment." Adele was visibly moved; she just started performing "When We Were Young" when she saw Dion for the first time in the crowd. Later, she went to social media and referred to it as a "MOMENT," adding, "The Colosseum was the only venue I wanted to play in Vegas because it was built for her."
What's Next for Adele?
While fans eagerly await her next move, Adele admittedly has no idea what is next for her. "I'm not doing anything else," she said at the close of the performance, adding with humor, "I'm s—ing myself about what I am going to do. I don't have any f—ing plans."
The singer has also alluded to taking time off from music to pursue other creative interests. "I want to take a big break after this, and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while," she said.
A Legacy in Las Vegas
Adele's residency, from November 2022 to November 2024 with two performances each weekend, cemented her stamp on Las Vegas entertainment. Though the singer gave a tearful goodbye, fans hope she will return to the stage when ready with her music.
