Ed Sheeran Reveals 2026 Loop Tour Across Australia and New Zealand
Ed Sheeran has formally confirmed his much-anticipated return to Australia and New Zealand with an entirely new tour scheduled for early 2026. As the British singer-songwriter continues his worldwide Mathematics Tour, Sheeran took to Instagram to announce his first-ever LOOP Tour. This tour in particular will include an entirely new stage production delivery, new music, new performance elements, and of course, fan-favourite classics. Unlike his past tours, this next chapter, he is planning more of an experience for concertgoers with the intent of pushing the bar higher than he has been in any way, shape, or form.

New Zealand and Australia Set for 11 Stadium Shows
The LOOP Tour is set for eleven dates from January to March 2026, beginning in Auckland and working through Wellington and Christchurch. After that, Sheeran will take the tour west to Australia with performances in the major centres, including Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and ultimately Adelaide. Those in these areas are excited to have the multi-award-winning back, especially after his most recent Oceania tour in 2023, which was record-breaking. In that tour, he broke the record for attendance over two nights at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, performing to over 217,000 fans and taking the record from Eminem.
Upcoming Tour Closely Tied to New Album ‘Play’
Notably, this tour coincides with the scheduled drop date of Sheeran's eighth studio album, Play, on September 12, 2026. In a fun twist, the album drops just days after Ed wraps up the Mathematics Tour in Düsseldorf, Germany. The timing of this new material allows for some strong momentum as Ed steps into the LOOP Tour, and people will naturally feel the excitement for new music to be paired with their memories of the live event. More often than not, Ed's blending of promotion and artistry sets him apart as a performer on the global music scene.
More International Plans on the Horizon
However, the Oceania leg is just the start of Sheeran’s 2026 aspirations. He started to tease more global plans through his exclusive Instagram account, Teddy’s Vinyl Breakfast in May. When asked, “What upcoming concert locations can we expect?" Sheeran answered,
- Oz/NZ top of next year
- then Latam
- then USA
indicating a huge global itinerary. Fans can expect a refreshed and revitalised Sheeran performance, regardless of the region. But it is the personal connection he brings to every show that ultimately underlies his unmatched success.
