Sag Harbor police finally released the highly anticipated Justin Timberlake body cam footage. This follows a recent legal settlement. The 45-year-old pop star originally fought hard to hide the video. Nevertheless, he recently agreed to public release with specific redactions. Authorities officially shared this redacted celebrity DUI arrest footage on Friday. Police pulled Timberlake over back in June 2024. Officers suspected him of driving while intoxicated. He recently pleaded guilty to a lesser charge. He received 25 hours of community service.

Above all, he even recorded a public service announcement. He warned fans about the real dangers of drinking and driving. "Even if you’ve had one drink, don't get behind the wheel," he urged. It was definitely a tough lesson for the singer.

Walking the Line Under Pressure

The Sag Harbor DWI footage reveals a very tense scene. You can clearly see the pop star struggling during roadside sobriety tests. Cops pulled his BMW SUV over on a quiet street. "Guys, I'm just following my friends back to my house," Timberlake slurred. He spoke in noticeably slowed-down speech. On the other hand, officers still required a nine-step heel-to-toe walk. "Sorry, I'm a little nervous," he admitted.

He ended up taking way more steps than they asked for. Cops then made him lift one foot six inches off the ground. They told him to count out loud. "Sorry, my heart is racing," Timberlake told the cops. He called the roadside exercises "really hard tests." Eventually, officers placed him in handcuffs.

Striking a Deal With the Law

Timberlake's legal team initially filed court papers in early March. They claimed the arrest video showed him in an "acutely vulnerable state." Lawyers argued the release served no real public interest. A Long Island judge paused the video release for a quick court review. Regardless, the Village of Sag Harbor eventually got the green light. They issued a statement expressing relief over the resolved matter. The town always tries to follow the Freedom of Information Law.

They must balance public transparency with personal privacy and safety. They review and redact materials like this regularly. In contrast to his lawyers' initial fears, the edited video is now public. The pop superstar soberly accepted his fate. He moves forward with a clearer perspective.
