Average Joe Lyrics

Here comes Joe, such a likeable soul
He's as fine a man as you'll find today
Sweet wife named Sue, pretty baby named Lou
Pushes pencils as a C.P.A
He's the kind of fella they call plain vanilla
But that doesn't matter much to Joe
When he's not counting numbers, he's looking for ways
To share the Savior that he's come to know
He don't make much money, but he keeps on smiling
He knows that he's got it made
The one thing that matters is that down at the office
Everybody's getting saved
Oh, don't you know
Every day, everywhere you go
The power of God can truly flow
Through the life of an average Joe
Oh-oh-oh, oh, can't you see
It's gonna come down to you and me
The love of the Lord can truly show
Through the life of an average Joe
Now Joe's wife, Sue, has a lot to do
Seems a woman's work is never done
With the kids and shopping, life really keeps her hopping
Every day keeps her on the run
But on Tuesdays and Thursdays without fail
She let's her whole world stop
She makes a pot of coffee and opens her Bible
With the girls all over the block
They read together how a virtuous woman
Is a thing that's pure and good
She's changing the lives of a lot of housewives
All over the neighborhood
Oh, don't you know
Every day, everywhere you go
The power of God can truly flow
Through the life of an average Joe
Oh-oh-oh, oh, can't you see
It's gonna come down to you and me
The love of the Lord can truly show
Through the life of an average Joe
You don't have to be no hero
Or a national superstar
We just need to be servants of the Lord
Right here where we are
Oh, don't you know
Every day, everywhere you go
The power of God can truly flow
Through the life of an average Joe
Oh-oh-oh, oh, can't you see
It's gonna come down to you and me
The love of the Lord can truly show
Through the life of an average Joe
