Ol' Muddy River Lyrics

[Verse 1]

If you ever come down to the ol' muddy river

Then you probably gonna catch me catchin' one there

I got a fishin' hole and a country girl waiting on me

A honey suckle bud and her silky brown here

[Verse 2]

I ain't never been afraid just to get a little dirty

Gotta get a little dirt for some good clean fun

Day by day the river keeps a rolling

Though the years come and go like the evening sun

[Chorus]

All my life's been wild like the river

So me and that river get along just fine

Everything's easy at the ol' muddy river

You know that's where I like to spend all of my time

[Verse 3]

I really found myself at the ol' muddy river

When I thought I'd lost more than I could regain

I sank my troubles in the slow flowin' water

Just to hold me like a maker when it floods with rain

[Chorus]

All my life's been wild like the river

So me and that river get along just fine

Everything's easy at the ol' muddy river

You know that's where I like to spend all of my time

[Verse 4]

Preacher man wash me in the ol' muddy river

Last Sunday mornin' at the break of day light

They'll spread my ashes in the ol' muddy river

But I'll be swimming in the river of life

[Chorus]

All my life's been wild like the river

So me and that river get along just fine

Everything's easy at the ol' muddy river

You know that's where I like to spend all of my time

Yeah you know that's where I like to spend all of my time
