A Ray of Hope Lyrics

Blessed are the merciful

For they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the meek

For they shall possess the earth.

I am a man

Or sometimes I'm a child

I'm caught up in a struggle,

Has me runnin' wild.

The angel on my shoulder

And the Devil at my feet.

The apple of temptation

Held in front of me.

And I will try

Every day to be a better man

And send a wave of love

To everyone I can.

And I believe

That there's a ray of hope.

Of light that's shining down from heaven.

Say a prayer

For the unfortunate man

Who knows of no salvation

And greed is his religion.

Say a prayer for the men

Who don't practice what they preach.

For children and the innocent

Misled by what they teach.

And I will try

Every day to be a better man

And send a wave of love

To everyone I can.

And I believe

That there's a ray of hope.

Of light that's shining down from heaven.

Oh, as I walk

Down these city streets

I see a side of life

That isn't always pretty.

But I know

That we're all part of His plan.

Saints and sinners, all of us

Walking hand-in-hand.

So we strive

Every day to be better men.

And send a wave of love

To everyone we can.

And I believe

That there's a ray of hope.

Of light that's shining down from heaven.

Of light that's shining down from heaven.
