The Cribs are taking Men’s Needs, Women’s Needs, Whatever back to Wakefield for its 20th anniversary. They will play the 2007 album in full at Tileyard North on Friday, August 20, 2027, with ¡Forward, Russia! as special guests. Hits from beyond the album are promised too.

It is a useful distinction for anyone weighing up an anniversary show. The complete record is the centrepiece, but it is not the whole advertised programme. There is room for the wider catalogue around it. No final running order or set length has been given, and the published event time of 17:30 should not be mistaken for a confirmed headliner start.

Can everyone use Wednesday’s presale?

No. The first announced route is the Wakefield Postcode Presale, for residents in districts WF1 through WF17. It opens at 10am on Wednesday, October 21. General sale follows at 10am on Friday, October 23, a gap of 48 hours. These are UK local times.

A travelling fan outside those districts therefore has a different date to plan around from a local resident. Signing up for a ticket account does not by itself meet a postcode condition. The organiser has published separate instructions for the local sale, which are worth reading before Wednesday morning.

The setting gives the album anniversary a hometown address. The advertised full performance also means that the other songs on the record belongs to the programme alongside its familiar singles. It is a reason to revisit the album as a sequence before the show, without trying to predict the extra hits.

Does premium admission mean a seat?

It does not. Both General Admission and Premium Admission are listed as standing. On October 19, the booking page displayed £49.01 for the former and £82.76 for the latter. That is a £33.75 difference for the premium bar, toilet and food facilities described in the listing, rather than reserved seating. The displayed prices should still be checked again when booking.

Camping chairs, rugs, stools and other furniture are prohibited. Under-fives cannot attend; under-14s must be accompanied, and pushchairs and prams are excluded. Those conditions matter if the album anniversary is becoming a family outing.

The accessible categories include one companion or PA place per ticket. The booking instructions say that a party of one access customer and one companion should buy one accessible ticket; the companion ticket is added automatically. It is a small detail that could save someone paying for a second ticket unnecessarily. There is still a choice to make between the viewing platform and accessible standing. The standing category provides neither a seat nor use of the platform. For this show, those details deserve as much attention as the presale dates.
