Everything But the Girl Announce Blue Reservoir as Ten New Songs, Beyond Their Reissue Year
Everything But the Girl have announced Blue Reservoir for February 19, 2027, with “Young and Dumb” available now as its first single. Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt confirmed the record on October 28, describing ten new songs recorded largely live at London’s RAK Studios in July.

There has been plenty of older Everything But the Girl music to buy lately. This announcement brings a different kind of release. Blue Reservoir follows 2023’s Fuse as a new studio album, rather than extending the run of remastered editions that has occupied part of the duo’s 2026 calendar.
That distinction is useful if you have been following the shop rather than every announcement. The Best of Everything But the Girl, released in November 2025, gathered sixteen tracks from across their career. This year’s deluxe CD series revisited records including Eden and Amplified Heart, followed by Walking Wounded and Temperamental. Those releases look back through the catalogue. The ten songs on Blue Reservoir add to it.
The new album grew out of Thorn and Watt’s continuing MOTH Club residency in London. Their announcement lists voices, guitars, double bass, drums and percussion, and points to some of their earliest influences. Together with the largely live recording approach, that gives a concrete indication of how they built the record. It does not establish that every song was captured in one take, or that the album is a recording of the club shows.
The difference between a live document and a studio album matters here. A residency can give musicians a shared way of playing without becoming the product itself. RAK is the named recording location for Blue Reservoir; MOTH is the experience behind it. Listeners coming from the electronic textures of Fuse have that change of emphasis to follow when the full record arrives.
Black and translucent blue vinyl editions are announced alongside CD and Blu-ray, with Dolby Atmos mixes included on the Blu-ray. Rough Trade has a separate limited marbleised vinyl edition. The official store also advertises a signed card for its first thousand orders. That is a limited allocation, so placing an order later should not be taken as a guarantee of a signature.
More performances are on the way, although fans should search under the names Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn. That is the billing used for the announced shows. New May 2027 dates include Union Chapel in London on May 21 and 22, St George’s in Bristol on May 25 and Manchester’s Albert Hall on May 26. Tickets are due on sale October 30.
The November Union Chapel and December MOTH dates listed in the same announcement are already marked sold out. Keeping the year and the billing in view should help anyone looking for the newly announced concerts find the right events.
