Lay It On Down Lyrics
LyricsSuggest a correction ↗
Each of us hold things too close
Too many treasures that mean the most to our hearts
Our standard of living is way too high
Happiness is something we can't buy
No matter how we try, so we gotta try
To lay it on down if it's in the way
It really doesn't matter what they're gonna say
If we listen too close to the world, it will turn us around
Give it on up, it'll pass away
There's just no future living for today
The Lord is calling us all to lay it on down
The world would have us all believe
That we're the ones that must achieve our own dreams
But lose the dream and you'll find the truth
That without God, it's just no use
No matter how we try, so we gotta try
To lay it on down if it's in the way
It really doesn't matter what they're gonna say
If we listen too close to the world, it will turn us around
Give it on up, it'll pass away
There's just no future living for today
The Lord is calling us all to lay it on down
Oh, lay it on down if it's in the way
It really doesn't matter what they're gonna say
If we listen too close to the world, it will turn us around
Give it on up, it'll pass away
There's just no future living for today
The Lord is calling us all to lay it on down
Yeah, the Lord is calling us all to lay it on down
