Rod Stewart Forced to Pause U.S. Tour Amid Health Concerns: Fans Await His Return

Rod Stewart, the legendary British rocker, has been forced to cancel and reschedule several U.S. tour dates as he recovers from a severe case of the flu. While fans anticipated another round of electric performances, Stewart shared on social media that his ongoing illness has derailed those plans. He announced that six concerts scheduled throughout June, including shows in Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, and two in California, are affected. Three Las Vegas performances originally scheduled for June 7, 8, and 10 have now been canceled altogether. Meanwhile, the June 12 and June 15 California shows will be rescheduled to September. The Lake Tahoe concert scheduled for June 14 is also canceled. Although disappointed, Stewart assured fans he’s committed to recovering fully and returning soon.

A Tough Season Despite Recent Recognition

The recent honors remind Stewart's admirers of an enduring legacy—even if the just-awarded honors may not have arrived at the best possible time. In May, the 80-year-old music legend received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 American Music Awards, a recognition that fully affirmed a career spanning over five decades. Yet just weeks later, his health forced the postponement of previously announced shows for June 1 and June 5 at Caesars Palace. The cancellations have stirred concerns among his loyal fans, many of whom had made cross-country journeys to witness his Las Vegas residency. Perhaps, though, the fact that he had been so candid about his woes and made a sincere apology has brought him a sea of sympathy. Regardless of that, the setback has brought home that even seasoned performers need to prioritize their health first.

Looking Ahead: Glastonbury on the Horizon

Still, Stewart has his eyes on a major comeback late this month. Should all go according to the recovery plan, the "Maggie May" hitmaker will return to the stage in the U.K. for the much-anticipated appearance at Glastonbury on June 29. Above all, from a fan perspective, a reunion with Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones, which will reunite their iconic 1960s and 1970s band, the Faces, is greatly anticipated. Unlike the canceled U.S. shows, this Glastonbury valorizes the summer festival season. To many, it is a powerful representation of how illness may sideline even the greats momentarily, but, in reality, true rock legends always find a way back.
